Ledenvergadering.

Op 15 oktober is er een ledenvergadering van de zeilvliegafdeling van de KNVvL. Deze vergadering vindt plaats in het gebouw van de KNVvL in Woerden.

Datum en tijd: vrijdag 15 oktober 2010 om 19.30 uur.

Plaats vergadering: KNVvL-gebouw, Houttuinlaan 16a, Woerden.

The Dutch Open 2010 has come to an end. Sooner than we all expected as the weather let us down after 4 great tasks.

After the task was cancelled, a lot of pilots had fun racing over Monte Cucco. But quite quickly the rain came end the flying was over. At Villa Scirca the prize giving took place in the presence of a big crowd. See the last clip here.

The weather doesn't look good, but we are going up anyway!!
For tomorrow we know for sure: no task will be set! So the pricegiving will be later today.

It turned out to be an exciting race for us waiting at goal. Gerolf arrived first at 15:00 followed closely by Vladimir. Then about 7 minutes later the sky was filled with arriving pilots from the south. Some just barely made it and others were high up in the sky . The first Dutch pilot in goal was Martin (15:10), followed by Koos (15:12) and Mart, who had the second startgate but arrived only about 10 minutes later. Of the women Monique and Christine made goal today. In the end we had 42 pilots in goal and Erik Severiens was the last that we could greet there.

We are expecting rain at 17:00 hrs, so just a small task of 86 km is set in the valley. Before the window opens, there is a lot of activity on the mountain and in the air. Learn from Vladimir how to topland and see the wild horses of Monte Cucco.

Everybody was off the mountain within 40 minutes! And then the racing began.

South take off again, but what about the weather???

Task 3: south take off again. The launching goes fairly quickly but some pilots hesitate and by the time they want to launch, the wind sometimes comes from the back. In the end everybody managed to launch, who wanted to. Because some pilots decided to take the day off: flying can be very exhausting it appears.

Today is looking good and we go up to the South take off again. Everybody is anxious to learn the final results.
