An exciting task, because the pilots have to check their altitude for the allowed height. Dennis Baranov and Hadewych van Kempen bombed out and went up for a second launch, but by that time the wind had turned north and launching wasn't possible anymore. Mart Bosman (check his launch in the clip) was early in goal: “at the startgate it was difficult. There were no clouds, so many pilots were low when they went on course. I think I should have taken the second startgate. After the second turnpoint I got a 7 m/s thermal and went up to 2200 meter. I raced to the turnpoint and back to the thermal and went up again. Then one long glide, but I could not find another thermal and had to land after 60 km.” First in goal is Jochen Zeischka followed by Anton Struganov. They were very quickly, but soon Jochen is worried about his height at Gubbio. Soon other pilots follow. Of the Dutch Koos de Keijzer and Rob in 't Groen finish close. Of the women Monique Werner, Christine Aichner and Evgeniya Laritskaya make goal. There appear to be many pilots with too much height at Gubbio: our scorer Mart will be busy tonight! Task 2 again we went to the south take-off. The day was looking good and a task was set for 120 km. The first 2 legs were at the Monte Cucco ridge, then west to the Gubbio valley and back the rigde south of Monte Cucco to finish in goal.
